People with a bold vision will save the earth. And we’re here to help them.

As the Futurestories Foundation, we support projects that are committed to our planet, to nature – and to us human beings.

Futurestories – an illustration of two people holding hands outdoors, one person helping the other up a hill. In the background are green hills, light clouds and a yellow sun, capturing the spirit of support and hope at the Futurestories Foundation.
Futurestories – illustration of a person with long dark hair wearing a purple top and blue patterned pantstrousers, standing with aone knee raised knee and looking through binoculars, representing the future-oriented spirit of the Futurestories Foundation.

What we champion: our central issues

Futurestories – an illustrated person with glasses and dark hair holds two large green leaves representing the Futurestories Foundation. The yellow background shows abstract floral shapes, and the person is wearing a light-coloured top and a round pendant.

Protecting the air, water, soil and climate. Valuing biodiversity, habitats and ecosystems. We believe in preserving our environment and the natural world.

Futurestories – an illustrated lynx stands in green stalks of grass and looks back over its shoulder. A butterfly is near its tail, and a worm and a purple plant are resting on a green patch of earth. The pink background completes this scene from the Futurestories Foundation.

Animals also have a right to live a life free from suffering, pain or fear. That’s why we write Futurestories about biodiversity.

Futurestories – illustration of three people: one is reading a book, one is bending an arm and one is hugging a large horse. The stylised figures and the purple background reflect the lively narrative spirit of the Futurestories Foundation.

We want to give young people from disadvantaged communities the chance to write their own Futurestories.

Futurestories – illustration of three women standing together against an orange background, representing the spirit of the Futurestories Foundation. One has blonde hair and is wearing a blue shirt, another has dark hair and is wearing yellow, and the third has curly hair and is wearing a purple blazer.

For a future worth living, we need bright minds, bold ideas – and more women in research and management. That’s why we empower girls and women and promote innovative approaches in medicine.

Vital for the future of our planet

On the banks of the Amazon, deep in the rainforest, indigenous peoples and local communities have lived in close contact with nature for generations.

Hippotherapy

In the rhythm of the horses

At the inclusive equestrian sports and riding therapy center Berlin-Karlshorst (RBO), you can feel it immediately: the charisma of the horses. The animals help children in particular to open up to their environment and their fellow human beings.

Preserving moors

The world’s most effective carbon reservoirs

Around 95 per cent of moorlands in Germany are considered to be severely impaired or destroyed. This is a serious problem, because moors are a habitat for many plant and animal species.

We need moor! Silent heroes in the fight against the climate crisis.

Moors store more carbon than all the world’s forests combined, protect against flooding and serve as a habitat for many endangered species. They are enormously important ecosystems, so we are working with the Loki Schmidt Foundation to ensure that they are preserved or rewetted. During a project visit to the moorlands around Hamburg, Axel Jahn, Managing Director of the Loki Schmidt Foundation, guides us through these beautiful landscapes.
